An IDF soldier who served as a guard on an army base in southern Israel was discovered dead, with gun shot wounds in his stomach, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday morning.
The soldier was drafted into the army seven months ago and within the first month was admitted to hospital after collapsing. Following the hospitalization he was told that due to his medical record he wouldn't be able to serve in a combat unit.
The parents of the deceased soldier are blaming the army for negligence that led to their son's death. "He was not in a condition to handle a weapon," they said.
The IDF spokesperson stated that Military Police was investigating the incident.
