An IDF soldier lost a leg on Saturday night when he trod on a mine near the Jordanian border.
The soldier was on guard duty in a communications post in the Arava, between Ketura and Shizafon, when, for some unknown reason, he left the post and entered a nearby minefield.
He was evacuated in moderate condition to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.
