Abu Hamza, an Islamic Jihad spokesman, claimed responsibility for Tuesday morning's Katyusha attack, saying it was aimed at sending a message to the Israeli military that it will not be cowed by operations against it.
Three Islamic Jihad members were wounded in an Israeli airstrike Monday as they traveled near an area routinely used to launch rockets at Israel. The Israeli army said the men were preparing to carry out an attack.
"This is a message for the Zionist war minister and to his army that resistance is the only strategic option for us, and that the ongoing war against our fighters and heroes will not stop our jihad and fight," Abu Hamza said.
