Israel halts Turkish egg imports due to bird flu

The Agriculture Ministry on Sunday ordered an immediate halt to importing poultry products from Turkey due to the recent outbreak of bird flu in the area, Israel Radio reported. Israel has recently been importing eggs from Turkey, but the ministry has ordered that the country stop its egg shipments and that any shipments that were already delivered be returned. Still, the Agriculture Ministry emphasized that no egg shortage is expected, as Israel plans to compensate by buying more from the US and European Union.
