Israeli Arab convicted of manslaughter

Ibrahim Abu-Zena, an Israeli-Arab, was convicted on Sunday morning of killing four people in a road accident at the Lod interchange four months ago. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to nine and a half years in prison. Abu Zena was serving a driving ban when he failed to stop at a red light while traveling over the speed limit. His friend, Idit Garcia, who was in the passenger seat, was decapitated in the accident. According to the verdict, the incident occured when the vehicle Ibrahim was driving collided with a car in which Netanya residents, Alan and Marjan Mortzifer, were traveling in the opposite direction. The couple, along with friend Archi Porofar who was in the back seat of the car, were all killed instantly, Israel Radio reported.
