A 26-year-old Israeli man was under arrest Thursday for allegedly stealing credit cards from patients in a Jerusalem hospital over the last several months.
He used them to stay at posh city hotels - including the King David - and dine at city restaurants, police said.
The credit card scammer, Assaf Chen, was nabbed in the lobby of Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Hospital after police raided his hotel room where he was staying under an assumed name. There, they found his picture on an altered identification card, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
An array of stolen credit cards were also found in his room at the city's Chen Hotel.
Police planned to press charges against him on Friday, and were asking a Jerusalem court to remand him through the duration of his trial.
