Journalist Ori Porat, formerly the director-general of the Israel Broadcasting Authority, passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 71.
Porat was brought to the Assaf Harofei Hospital, and afterwards transferred to Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The funeral time had yet to be announced.
Porat, a third generation Israeli, began his career at Yediot Aharonot, where he worked for 25 years. He later served as media adviser for former prime ministers Menahem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir.
