Israeli workers find thousands of shekels bills in sewage plant
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Sanitation workers have found a stack of 200-shekel notes, all neatly torn in half, among the sewage at a waste treatment plant in northern Israel. The pile is worth about $2,000 (€1300).
The plant manager says police were skeptical when he told them about the strange find. Now police think it might have something to do with criminals, and they're investigating.
Media are speculating that maybe this is a story of a fight between a man and wife. According to this theory, one of them angrily cut the bills in half and flushed them down the toilet.
