Italian FM to meet in Jerusalem with Olmert

Italy's foreign minister travels to Jerusalem Sunday for talks with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert about the fighting in southern Lebanon, officials said. During his two-day visit, Massimo D'Alema will also meet with his Israeli counterpart, Tzipi Livni, and Defense Minister Amir Peretz, the Italian Foreign Ministry said. He was also scheduled to visit Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. During the talks, "we will insist on moderation, on protecting civilian lives and on an urgent halt to fighting," D'Alema was quoted as telling French newspaper Le Monde in an interview published Saturday.
