A 48-year-old Jerusalem jewelry shop owner was under arrest Wednesday for allegedly breaking into a jewelry exhibition in the city's landmark King David Hotel, police said.
A police search in the suspect's home, shop, and car uncovered stolen jewelry valued at $100,000, as well as an assortment of drugs, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The suspect, who denies that he stole the jewelry, will be brought to a Jerusalem court Thursday for a remand hearing.
A hotel spokesman was not immediately available for comment Wednesday.
