Karadi deflects crticism for Sela escape

Israel Police Chief Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi on Wednesday deflected criticism aimed at Israel Police following the escape of serial rapist Benny Sela. "This is not a different police force - these are the same police officers who risked their lives for the residents of the North during 33 days of war and the same police officers who have been under threat of Kassam attacks in Sderot for six years," he said Karadi went on to say that they were also the same policemen who "performed one of the most complicated operations - the disengagement." Army Radio reported that Karadi made the comments during Northern District Police conference.
