Labor Secretary General Eitan Cabel announced Friday that the party decided to reconvene in three weeks to decide if they will stay in the government.
The announcement came following the party's first meeting convened under the leadership of newly elected Amir Peretz, Israel Radio reported. Outgoing Labor chairman Shimon Peres did not participate in the meeting.
Peretz requested his party give him the opportunity to advance his platform. He promised that the next year would be a turning point for the Labor Party in which it will gain leadership of the country.
