Labor won't hold coalition meetings with Right

Labor Party leaders decided late Sunday not to hold meetings with representatives of right-wing parties in an effort to convince them to ask President Moshe Katsav to call on Labor head Amir Peretz to form the next government. In a late-night meeting called by the Labor chairman, Labor heads agreed that they would not keep other parties from asking the president to nominate Peretz, but that those parties would be doing so of their own volition.
