Opposition Chairman Yosef Lapid (Shinui) invited newly elected Labor Chairman Amir Peretz to Monday's meeting of the opposition party leaders, to determine an agreed-upon date for early elections.
Shinui's faction meeting Friday morning concluded that the party would vote against the 2006 budget.
The Knesset was set to vote next Wednesday on a bill proposed by Yitzhak Levy (National Union) to disperse the parliament.
