Lapid: PM let Litzman bribe gov't to fund religion

Shinui leader Yosef Lapid said Tuesday morning that Knesset Finance Committee chairman Ya'akov Litzman received approval from Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to using national funds in order to bribe the government into funding religious causes.
Lapid said that Litzman, who was appointed chairman of the Finance Committee after Shinui left the government, refused to invest public money in certain social programs unless additional funds were diverted to religious institutions and the support of Yeshiva students, Israel Radio reported.
