Lehem social party negotiates to join Likud

Lehem Party, headed by social activist Yisrael Twitto, made contact with Likud on Wednesday in order to discuss the possibility of joining the larger party. Twitto stated that his party could join Likud only if the party adopted an emergency plan to fight poverty, established a minimum threshold for 'respectful living', and if Lehem representatives were guaranteed two slots in Likud's top 10, Army Radio reported. There was no indication yet whether or not Likud would accept the demands.
