Likud tells Defense Minister Barak to 'wake up from slumber'

Likud members called on Defense Minister Ehud Barak (Labor) to "wake up from his slumber and stop the Kassam fire," Israel Radio reported Monday afternoon. NU-NRP MK Zvi Hendel called on the government to instruct the IDF to enter Gaza in full force to stop the Kassam threat permanently. He also said all negotiations with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas should be suspended until the rocket fire subsides. Earlier Monday, seven Kassam rockets were fired at Israel from the northern Gaza Strip. One of the rockets hit the courtyard of a daycare center.
