Livni: EU involvement in Israel 'unprecendented'

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told European Union ambassadors on Thursday evening that "a Palestinian state [would be] a national home for the Palestinian people as a response to the refugee issue, in the event of a future arrangement with the Palestinians." Speaking at a meeting of the officials in Tel Aviv, Livni praised the EU's involvement in the diplomatic process, saying that such involvement was without precedent. In addition, she urged the EU to stick to the conditions it had set for the Palestinians, saying that "hesitation and willingness to compromise will only strengthen Hamas."
