Livni: If we don't give up land, we'll be forced to give up ultimate goal

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said Tuesday that in negotiations with the Palestinians, Israel will need to cede parts of the country. "If we don't, we will be forced to give up aspects of our ultimate goal: to establish Israel as a Jewish, democratic and secure state," she added during a speech at the Jerusalem Conference. The foreign minister stressed that the ongoing peace talks must be used to reinforce the notion of two nation states and ensure that Palestinian refugees do not return to Israel.
