Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has invited the foreign ministers of Jordan and Egypt to visit Israel for talks on an Arab plan offering Israel a peace deal in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from territories captured in the 1Six Day War, aides said Sunday.
Livni's office said she told ministers at Sunday's weekly Cabinet meeting that she had written to Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul-Ilah al-Khatib, designated as the Arab League's point men with Israel on the plan, and invited them to bring with them any other league representatives.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said the invitations did not specify a date for a visit, and there had not yet been a response from Cairo or Amman.
