Magician Uri Geller to address MDA convention

Israeli-born magician Uri Geller says he will take control of all the watches on the wrists of thousands of Magen David Adom activists at a convention for volunteers, which will be held on Monday at the Jerusalem Convention Center. Geller, who is honorary president of the MDA Friends Association will appear and make the watches change their time because "every minute counts" in saving lives. The all-day conference will include an announcement that 2006 will be a year of MDA humanitarian activity by its Israeli volunteers on behalf of the country's needy sectors. The ambassador of Sri Lanka, which was assisted by MDA after the tsunami upheaval, will present a special award to the first-aid and rescue organization for its assistance to the victims and for donating two ambulances to his country.
