Eldad Eshet, 59, from Arad, died on Saturday during a hike with his family.
According to reports, the family called for help after Eshet began to feel sick. Rescue teams who responded to the call pronounced the man dead on arrival.
Army Radio reported temperatures in the area as having reached 43 Celsius.
Elsewhere, two other hikers, 22 and 26, were rescued during hikes in the North. Rescue services reported that one of the hikers suffered from dehydration, while the other had a suspected broken leg.
