Man killed, two others injured in car accident in southern Israel

One man was killed and two others were moderately injured Saturday in a car accident at the Nitzana border crossing in the Negev. Police said the driver had apparently ignored "no entry" signs at the crossing between Israel and Egypt and collided with a concrete barrier. A spokesman for the police added that it was suspected the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time. The injured men were evacuated to Beersheba's Soroka Hospital.
