A police helicopter was tracking two suspects in the Wednesday afternoon shooting of a 42-year-old Arab man on the Kisseh Beach between Tirat Hacarmel and Atlit.
According to the victim's children, who were with him and witnessed the event, two Arab men approached their father and shot him three times, then fled the scene in a dune buggy.
A rescue crew declared the victim dead at the scene.
Police reported that the victim had a police record that included charges of theft and drug possession.
Investigators believe that the shooting was motivated by a rivalry between crime families, and were investigating the event.
