Man who murdered elderly persons sentenced to 2 life terms

The Haifa District Court on Monday sentenced 41-year-old Roni Peretz to two consecutive life sentences and an additional 20 years in prison for the murder of two elderly persons and the assault of several others. "We don't see severe crimes such as these often. The defendant did not only wound his victims but killed them in his own blood contaminated hands," the judges wrote in their verdict. According to the verdict, Peretz impersonated a mail man in at least four different cases in order to enter his victims' houses. He then assaulted them, threatened them with a knife and left some of them wounded and bound. Peretz stole jewelery and small amounts of money from his victims.
