Mea Shearim man arrested for running 'drug station' in his house

A 61-year-old resident of Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood was under arrest Tuesday for running a "drug station" from his home, police said.
The police investigation into the father of eight began several weeks ago in the wake of "intelligence information" that the suspect was selling drugs in his home in the haredi neighborhood.
Detectives, posing as drug dealers, came to the suspects' home, and purchased hashish from him four times, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
During a subsequent police raid on the house Monday night, police uncovered an assortment of drugs including hashish, and marijuana, as well as improvised handguns.
The suspect told police investigators that he was not a drug dealer but would "offer his friends drugs as refreshments," Ben-Ruby said. The suspect was brought to a Jerusalem court for a remand hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
