Micha Lindenstrauss: 'I'm not out to get Olmert'

"I am not out to get Prime Minister Ehud Olmert," State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss said on Monday. "I feel ill at ease because of criticism focusing on the comptroller personally. Instead of responding to my actual reports, [various persons] accuse the comptroller of seeking publicity," he added. Lindenstrauss also called on the Knesset to expand his authority, so that his reports would not be without effect. In an interview, Lindenstrauss told Army Radio that "at the moment, I lack the tools to check whether the conclusions of my reports are carried out, and to gain those tools I need the support of the public and the media."
