Military court keeps Hamas lawmakers in prison
An Israeli military court ruled on Monday to hold 18 Palestinian lawmakers from the ruling Hamas party in prison until the conclusion of their trial.
The military prosecutor's office had appealed a court decision last week ordering the lawmakers freed on bail while the court proceedings continue.
Israel arrested the lawmakers, including three Cabinet ministers, in June, after Hamas-allied operatives captured Cpl. Gilad Shalit in June.
There had been speculation that they would be released in any prisoner swap deal to free the soldier.
