MK Taleb a-Sanaa (United Arab List) complained on Wednesday that the security establishment was preventing him from entering the Gaza Strip in order to calm the atmosphere in the area.
A-Sanaa asked Defense Minister Amir Peretz to allow him to meet with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and other PA officials, so that he may get the Palestinians to stop launching rockets at Israel.
The Ministry of Defense said the request was being considered. A-Sanaa told Israel Radio that he was told his request was rejected out of fear for his safety.
