MK Estherina Tartman to be new tourism minister

Israel Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman announced at a meeting of his faction on Sunday that MK Estherina Tartman would receive the tourism portfolio. Lieberman chose Tartman over the number two man on the Israel Beiteinu list, MK Yisrael Hasson. He also announced that MK Stas Meseznecov would receive the chairmanship of the Knesset Finance Committee. Tartman's appointment is set to be approved by the cabinet and the Knesset next week. "Had we received a security portfolio, then Hasson would have been given the job, and had we received the absorption portfolio, someone else would have been appointed. But for the financial portfolio, [Tartman] was the most fitting, " Lieberman told reporters at the meeting. "She was in the party from the beginning and has remained loyal to the party."
