Navy spots swimmers trying to smuggle arms to Gaza

Navy patrol boats spotted two people early Thursday morning along the Egypt-Gaza border while they were trying to smuggle weapons into Israel. The two were trying to swim across the border, but were in a forbidden zone. After warning calls and then warning fire, troops opened fire at the men, wounding at least one of them. Palestinian sources reported that one of the swimmers made his way to a hospital in Rafah, and that his condition was "good." It was not clear what happened to the second swimmer.
