A 27-year-old non-commissioned IDF officer admitted on Wednesday to having participated in the statuary rape of a 13-year-old girl on an IAF base, and will most likely be fired from his post. In addition, five other soldiers confessed to having sexual relations with the girl, bringing the total number of people who have thus far admitted to the sexual acts to 16. Some 30 troops and civilians have been suspected of having illegal sexual relations with the girl, who is the daughter of a career air force man. As of present, some 70 officers ranking as high as Major, along with other NCOs, have been questioned by military police, but none have admitted to having knowledge of the events which were taking place on their base. In the coming days officers ranking as high as Lieutenant-Colonel will be questioned, including, most likely, the commander of the base. Investigators said they were doubtful as to whether any of the perpetrators - admissions notwithstanding - would face criminal charges at the conclusion of the investigation. All of the suspects interrogated thus far have said that they believed that the girl was 16, the age of consent for sexual relations.
