Netanya woman accused of burning daughters' hands

A 38-year-old Netanya woman was brought for a remand extension on Wednesday morning after she was arrested for the alleged ongoing abuse of her two daughters, aged eight and 10, Army Radio reported. According to the allegations, the woman would regularly place a hot knife on the girls' hands and beat them with sticks until the sticks broke. In one instance, the woman was suspected of breaking the 10-year-old's hand while beating her. The abuse was discovered when the older daughter's friends found burns on her hands and told the school guidance counselor, who called in one of the daughters. The girl broke down and told her that the abuse had been going on for nearly a year. The mother has denied the allegations against her. The two girls, meanwhile, have been transferred to the care of social services while police continued to investigate the matter.
