Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu told diplomats on Tuesday that he would be willing to negotiate with Syria but only if it would "disengage from Iran."
Netanyahu said that at the end of any negotiations that he would conduct Israel would remain in the Golan Heights.
Netanyahu made his comments after the press had left the room during a briefing at Tel Aviv's Carlton Hotel.
A diplomat that attended the event said that "Netanyahu delivered a clear message about the dangers from Iran," and that he would certainly deliver the message back to his country.
