Netanyahu's critics in Likud warned of suspension

Eight Likud central committee members who made comments against the party leader MK Binyamin Netanyahu were warned that they might be suspended, in a letter sent to them on Tuesday morning. Over the last few days central committee members associated with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's former camp within the party threatened to act to remove Netanyahu, if he "didn't improve the party's platform," according to a statement they released. The members met over the past few days after Netanyahu's initiative to weaken the decision-making power of the central committee. Supporters of former foreign minister MK Silvan Shalom were suspected of being behind the comments made against Netanyahu, Army Radio reported.
