New bill: Important diplomatic decisions would need referendum approval

A new bill proposed by Likud MK Silvan Shalom would mandate that any government decision with "important diplomatic ramifications" would have to be approved by a referendum, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.
Shalom was speaking at a New Year's convention of the Likud party held in Tel Aviv.
