NIS 5 million earmarked for program to motivate combat reserve soldiers

Social Welfare Minister Yitzhak Herzog approved earmarking NIS 5.8 million from the National Insurance budget for an incentive program intended to motivate combat reserve soldiers, Tuesday. The money, which will be transferred to the Defense Ministry, will be used to fund special discounts to cultural events, trips, and other activities. The Defense Ministry will add to the funds up to a sum of NIS 25 million. A Social Welfare Ministry statement said that in order to control the way the funds are used, the head of planning reserve manpower in the Defense Ministry will have to report continually to National Insurance's Reserve Committee.
