Noam Schalit: We hope the tape is real, not 'spin'

Gilad Schalit's father, Noam, expressed hope on Monday that the release of a tape of his son speaking was a genuine gesture on Hamas's part and not some "spin." Schalit said that he hoped the release of the tape expressed Gilad's captors' desire to move negotiations forward and bring the prisoner exchange issue to a conclusion. Schalit said that the content of the tape raised a number of questions, such as Gilad's claim that he needed to be hospitalized despite repeated statements by Hamas that the soldier was in "good health" and being "treated well."
