Olmert condemns Betar fans' behavior

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, known as a diehard fan of the Betar Jerusalem soccer team, condemned in no uncertain terms on Monday the fans who booed during a moment of silence in honor of slain prime minister Yitzhak Rabin during Sunday evening's Maccabi Haifa match. "I'm a fan, but I loathe these rude, violent people who make up a not inconsiderable part of the [Betar] fans," Olmert said at a Tel Aviv event. Olmert said that the authorities would take a zero-tolerance approach towards this kind of behavior.
