Olmert delays decision on health basket expansion

At a meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office on Sunday, the decision regarding a NIS 150 million increase in the health basket was delayed until the health basket committee decides its priorities and how much money it requires. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that not only medications, but also taking care of welfare, security and traffic accidents saves lives. Many colon cancer patients and their supporters have been on a hunger strike for two weeks, demanding that the medications Avastin and Erbitux be added to the health basket.
