Olmert: Israel has neglected the education establishment

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said during a meeting with young Kadima activists on Wednesday night that he hoped the teachers' strike would be over by the end of the week.
"For many years, the state of Israel has neglected the education establishment and has particularly abandoned the teaching profession, and as a result, the achievements of the education establishment have remained few," added the prime minister.
