Finance Minister Ehud
Olmert lashed out at Labor Chairman Amir Peretz Monday morning, saying he does not truly represent the poor as the Histadrut chairman claims.
According to Olmert, Peretz never fought for the poor but only for the rich and powerful economic corporations. The finance minister claimed that it was these corporations that brought Peretz’s victory in the Labor Party last week.
He further called Peretz’s platform “half-communistâ€, and the world had already forgotten of such policies.
In spite of these criticisms and the panic and aggression that Peretz created, according to Olmert, he still believes there is a point to conducting a meeting between Peretz and Prime Minister
Ariel Sharon as scheduled this Thursday.
