Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Sunday that the budget for the National Road Safety Authority would not be cut and would remain at NIS 550 million as promised to Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, Olmert stressed that "the situation on the roads is very worrying, and the government will put all its energy into dealing with it."
