Palestinians: IDF hits two houses in northern Gaza

IDF artillery fire hit two houses in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, lightly wounding two people, according to Palestinian police reports. The shells landed in a farming area, lightly damaging the two homes with shrapnel and destroying a greenhouse, police said. The fire was yet more response to rocket attacks by Palestinian terrorists. The IDF said it was firing artillery toward rocket-launching sites, but could not confirm whether a house had been struck. The Islamic Jihad claimed it fired three rockets Monday into southern Israel, while the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades said it fired two more rockets. The IDF said two rockets landed inside Israel early Monday. There were no reports of casualties.
