IDF artillery fire hit two houses in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, lightly wounding two people, according to Palestinian police reports.
The shells landed in a farming area, lightly damaging the two homes with shrapnel and destroying a greenhouse, police said.
The fire was yet more response to rocket attacks by Palestinian terrorists. The IDF said it was firing artillery toward rocket-launching sites, but could not confirm whether a house had been struck.
The Islamic Jihad claimed it fired three rockets Monday into southern Israel, while the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades said it fired two more rockets.
The IDF said two rockets landed inside Israel early Monday. There were no reports of casualties.
