Parents in Sderot and the towns in the Gaza periphery appealed to high school teachers to discontinue their strike in the area, Army Radio reported.
The parents claimed that Kassam rockets were already disrupting the daily school routine, and that the additional teacher sanctions were harming the children.
Doron Solomon, head of the parental committee at the Sha'ar Hanegev high school, said that it was "preferable for the students to stay in schools, since they're protected, unlike most homes in the Gaza periphery."
High school teachers resumed their strike in the North and South earlier in the morning.
