Peres: Gaza airport should be opened

Shimon Peres told Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that the Gaza airport should be reopened for agricultural trade. "Palestinian shipping gets stuck at the Karni border crossing and Ben Gurion Airport," he told Israel Radio, "and some of the product goes bad on the way. There's no reason to look for a bomb in every crate of tomatoes and shipment of flowers." Peres also noted that "Export to Europe will make things much easier on Palestinian farmers."
