Peres: 'I'm not against Syrian negotiations'

"I am not against negotiations with Syria", Vice Premier Shimon Peres told Channel 1 Sunday evening. Peres argued that since Iran claims not to be developing nuclear weapons, there was no reason for it to possess missiles, and that the international community should pressure Iran on the subject. Peres also emphasized that Hamas is now 'an arm of Iran', and no longer a 'limb of the Palestinian Authority'. However, he said, Israel should not interfere with the PA: "Any interference from our side will have the opposite effect from what we want," he stressed.
