Peres: The soldier who shot the terrorist filled my heart with pride

The soldier who, along with at least three other policemen, jumped onto a moving tractor which had been commandeered by a terrorist and assisted in killing the man, won high praise from President Shimon Peres late Wednesday evening. "I watched the off-duty soldier, he didn't have a weapon and he searched for a gun. He found a pistol, got on [the tractor], and shot the terrorist," Peres said during a ceremony at the President's residence in Jerusalem. "My heart is filled with pride - to see a young Israeli risk his life for others," the president said. Peres also had words for the victims of the attack, saying that "we will pray together for their recovery."
