Defense Minister Amir Peretz spoke on Friday evening with members of the Movement for Quality Government who were demonstrating outside his home, calling for a government committee of inquiry into the Lebanon war, Army Radio reported.
Peretz refused to resign, and said that he intended to start the IDF on a work plan to raise the level of preparedness.
Earlier Friday, Peretz hinted that the time might come when he would resign. "The moment might arrive when I feel that I want to fulfill myself in other ways," he said.
