Defense Minister Amir Peretz decided that due to the current security situation in the North and the Hizbullah attacks, the designation of special emergency situation would be extended to the valleys and the Kinneret as well.
The security situation will now include those areas, as well as Afula, Nazareth, Tiberias, and other surrounding towns.
The designation will help residents when dealing with the various government offices when they need to claim damages they incurred during the fighting.
Peretz's decision is still pending government approval, as well as that of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
